Training is a process of imparting knowledge for doing a particular job. It is an act of developing the talent of a personnel. Training helps in improving the aptitudes, skills and abilities of the employees to do a specific job more diligently. It gives people an awareness of rules and procedures to guide their behavior.

Development means to enhance versatility among the employees. It is a carrier oriented process to help employees grow. The basic purpose of Human Resource Department in an organization is to prepare the managers who not only acquire skill and competency in the present job but are also able to handle more responsibility at higher posts in the future.
The purpose of training and development is to improve the quality of work force, enhance employee growth, prevent any obsolescence and of course, reduce the gap between planning and implementing.
Importance of Training
Training is beneficial to the organization as well as for the employees. With the help of training, the best use of materials and equipments can be made. The trained employees become so expert in their jobs that their work does not need much supervision. Also, the trained employees are satisfied with their job which helps in reducing labour turnover and absenteeism in an organization. The more trained an employee is, the less are the chances of committing accidents. Employees also become more eligible for promotion.
Importance of Development
The need for the employee development is to increase the market value of the managers. Employee Development helps in creating ability in the managers for taking effective decisions. It helps the managers for establishing relation between cause and effect. It helps in improving the work performance of the enterprise. Development enables the employees to tackle future problems more skillfully.
In conclusion, it can be said that training an employee is important for an organization. Though it is not related to the company directly but it will surely have an effect on the company’s progress.
