” EMPLOYEE’S ENGAGEMENT is employees who positively engage not only as a customer ,but everything about the business where they are employed.You generally do not get employees engagement without employer’s engagement with the employees … take personal interest in them ; you get a better worker plus one who is engaged”- BRANDON MORRIS

mmm…  it is very well described by Brandon Morris,Employee’s engagement refers to a complete involvement of employee in the organisational activities. It not only includes the presence of employee at work,physically but it also involves that the employee present their mentally as well .

According to ‘CIPD WEBSITE ‘,while working with’ Kingston Business School ‘ they defined Employee’s Engagement as”being positively present during the performance of the work by willingly contributing intellectual effort,experiencing positive emotions and meaningful connections to other”. According to this definition employee’s engagement has three dimensions :

* Intellectual Engagement- Thinking hard about the job , how to do it better

 finding new and innovative  ways and improve your work with all your efforts 

*Affective Engagement- Feeling positive about doing a good job . It is truly said that if we think positive about doing something and surely the results will be in our favor.

*Social Engagement- Actively taking opportunities to discuss work-related improvements with others at work and engaging with the work whole heartedly.

 

Sometimes employee’s satisfaction is considered as employee’s engagement ,but these two are quite different things .Their is a possibility that employees may feel satisfied by getting paid more than actual work they are doing .But this will not be considered as employee’s engagement or in this case we can say that employee’s are not ENGAGED with the organisation.Employee’s engagement is EXTREMELY ESSENTIAL for an organisation. Employees are the biggest assets for any organisation and if an organisation wants to expand itself then employees engagement and contribution is very important.
