Net Neutrality or Internet equality is a principle that Internet service providers and governments should treat all data on the Internet equally, not discriminating or charging deferentially by user, content, site, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or mode of communication.

In recent times, in India the debate about Net Neutrality initiated with large scale online campaign for it, asking for people to get associate with the movement for net Neutrality. During last few days, numbers of online petitions have been sent to TRAI to act against the violation of Net Neutrality by corporate interests. In UNITED STATES there has been extensive debate about whether net neutrality should be required by law.

There are several arguments for as well as against this isssue of Net Nutrality. Online companies, some technology companies and some big Internet application companies advocates for net nuetrality. Yahoo!, eBay, Amazon, Microsoft, Twitter, Tumbler, along with many other companies and organisations have also taken the stance for net neutrality.

Supporters of net neutrality supportes it by saying it will provide us features as Control Of Data, Digital rights and freedoms, Compitative and Innovative nature among companies, PReserving Internet standards, Preventing pseudo-services and end-to-end principle and many more.

Big internet companies not only are in support with Net neutrality but some big gaints like AT&T, IBM, Cisco, Nokia, Qualcomm, D-Link,Alcatel-Lucent, Panasonic, Ericsson adn maony other technologist are against net neutrality. These support there argument by stating Net Neutrality will lead to Reduction in innovation and investments, Counterweight to server-side non-neutrality, Broadband infrastructure suffers less investments, Significant and Growing competition, Prevent over use of Bandwidth, High cost to entry for cable broadband any many more.
Net neutrality will remove the data discrimination from different operators, Quality of service may decline as if we go through some economic implications firms are forced to produce at level where price is equals to marginal cost of production which leads to decrease in companies profits which when to compensate this lost profit companies can decline the quality of there services, but if we see it with consumers prospective there will be a single price modal preveiling in market which makes consumer to migrate from one service provider to another.

In last going through economic implication government should see to welfare of both side consumers’ as well as service providers’ welfare will not be go in sake for welfare of one section. Before going through any decision government should go through arguments for and against of issue of Net Neutrality.
