HR Analytics is the new buzzword in the industry. Having heard ,read and discussed about this trending piece of technology, we also wonder what are the big challenges that it will bring along . Keeping aside the pertinent problems like getting the right data, interpreting the data, cost effectiveness, availability of data scientists etc, there is one more aspect to think of. Will it affect the diversity in an organization?

Diversity is what brings in ideas and innovations from different backgrounds into an organization. It is imperative that organizations tune into diversity as it adds more exposure and creativity. Can analytics bring in diversity. Or will it just blend in a specific kind of people?

Even if we consider just a single department, diversity in terms of skills or qualification, even if not related to the job at hand can bring tremendous improvement in the working culture as group members start to think about various perspectives. Conflicts and their resolution will also occur only if differences arise. Patterns which bring n same kind of people into the organization’s people pool may hamper the very essence of diversity. Any organization which is planning to move into solely analytics for building people skills and capability need to give this a thought.
