How positive are your thoughts?

Have you ever analysed whether your thoughts are putting you in a healthy state of mind?

One should have a  healthy mindset as your thoughts can have a big impact on your life. The following thoughts can help you develop a healthy outlook and improve your productivity as well.

“I haven’t yet reached my potential.”

When you define your potential it theoretically becomes the ceiling of your life. What is difficult is to estimate that ceiling because of humans’ ability to increase their potential through learning and adapting. Therefore, it is a poor practice to focus on your ceiling – as it is hard to define whether we have reached the end of the ceiling or not? Remember assuming that you can do anything is factually false  as we are all limited in what we can do. But what is worse is to be too realistic and loose out on some great opportunities.

Train your mind to think of solutions and ideas, not your problems and limitations.

 “I’m important and I can impact the world.”

 It’s not bad to believe that you have something to offer the world, because all of us have different capabilities and different offering to make. It’s healthy to feel important. People who feel that they are not valued, appreciated, or respected turn to extreme ways to prove their worth. Rather than taking the wrong turn it is better to make someone happier. If you have the power to improve someone’s day with your words or actions then it ultimately gives you the satisfaction and pride. It is better to shift your attention towards making others happier, and you will find yourself feeling happier, powerful, and important too. When you give, you matter. It’s the easiest and most satisfying way to make an impact on the world.

If you have thoughts of insignificance, help or give to someone in need, and observe how their joy changes your feelings immediately.

“I define me.”

You might wonder “who am I and where do I fit in?” Rather than finding answers to these questions outside find an answer for yourself, because you know yourself better than anyone else. It is very important to know yourself, because if you are insecure in your identity, you will look to the world for clues.

Don’t let the world become a panel of judges in your eyes, and then you you will try to manipulate the judges to make yourself feel better about yourself. Remember the world is not a panel of judges, it’s a mirror that reflects your self-image back to you. So if you show the world that you don’t know who you are, you will get confusing feedback because the world can’t provide your identity it only you who can. You are the only one with the right to define who you are so present your identity to the world with confidence.

Accept yourself with all of your merits and flaws, and the world will too. And remember, it always starts with you. Never let the world or anyone in it tell you who you are.
