To get Indian educational programs an international acceptance, AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) established The National Board of Accreditation (NBA), India under section 10(u) of AICTE act, in the year 1994. NBA Deals with periodic evaluations of technical institutions & programs basis, according to specified norms and standards recommended by AICTE council.
Its objective is to Assurance of Quality and Relevance of Education, programs in professional and technical disciplines. like, Engineering and Technology, Architecture, Pharmacy, Management and Hospitality, through the accreditation of programs offered by technical institutions of India. Many Engineering colleges in India are now recognized by NBA under accreditation. this gives Indian engineers a strong base over international acceptance for his grades and skills, to apply for jobs opportunities from abroad.
Basically accreditation deals with core Engineering Branches, NBA has their own parameters and criteria for accreditation with the best international practices and oriented to assess the outcomes of the program.
According to recent statement of the Human Resource Development (HRD), India the higher educational institutions teaching technical courses have to obtain NBA accreditation either after six years or after its two batches of students.
