Resume is a one to two page formal document that lists a job applicant’s work experience, education and skills.The way to get accepted into the job of your choice begins from sending your resume since it is the first thing noticed by your employers about you.Resume varies from person to person and from job to job.Whether to include things like an objective statement, list of skills, and education will depend on your level of experience and industry – but here are six simple things you should always include on your resume, no matter what:
1.Contact Information
A seemingly obvious information which is often missed on by the applicants-their email address and contact number which is either placed at bottom or not present at all.It should be preferably placed at top.
2.Keywords from job posting
You must include some keywords from the original job posting since many employers use a resume scanning system.
3.Accomplishments and Achievements
Employers need to know what you’ve done to contribute to the growth of your department, team, and company in order to determine if your strengths align with the needs and responsibilities of their company and the job opening.
4.Metrics
Employers need numbers to be able to fully evaluate the scope of your application .No position is exempt from measuring results. Metrics help employers determine if a person is capable of leading a team, managing clients, or growing the business.Also they are a great way of proving your achievements.
5.Links to your work
Depending on the field or position you’re applying for, it may be useful to include links to your work (articles you’ve written, websites you’ve designed, photographs you’ve taken, etc.). Your goal should be to include enough information using as few words as possible.
