Tuesday after lunch is the cosmic time of the week. Written somewhere, on some distant wall, some thousands of miles away from our computer screens are these words that hold an idiosyncratic meaning to every individual. What it actually means is that things will happen when it’s time for them to happen and that this concept is so hackneyed that it’s almost cosmic in nature.
How is it related to HR you say? Well, like Murphy’s Law, this axiom is interestingly relatable to every situation of life.
HR, like any other field, has an epiphany point. You never know who and when gets a what and where but when it happens, the whole industry is taken by storm and it’s nothing like anything. Remember when casual Fridays hit the road? It was taken up like Michelangelo and Mozart! And now we have come to a point where Infosys is considering a Casual Friday every day.
Just like science, even in the field of commerce, finance and HR, we experience EUREKAS! And wham, the whole outlook of the industry changes in a few years. It’s comforting to know that the world is evolving for good but is the good really the best? That we find out only by learning from our mistakes. Don’t forget, we live in a world that approves of blankets with cut out sleeves.
