This video is of TMC spokesperson Mrs. Mausami losing her cool on the show. There have been other similar instances on the show but this went a bit too far and rightly so. If anyone watches Times Now editor-in-chief on the show he can easily make out that it cannot be called a debate mainly because of the fact that the program is a one man show with viewers hardly ever getting to know the opinions of the invited panelists on the show. Many a times the panelists themselves have to say frustratingly that they’ve not got a chance to speak. Also combine it with the fact that the conclusion at the end of the debate is generally what Mr. Arnab thinks should be based on his viewpoints and his interpretation, rather than summarizing  the viewpoints of every panelist and then drawing a conclusion or interpretation out of it.

I feel instead if it was named “The Arnab Show” it would’ve been true to its name. But if what Arnab’s show is what debating is, then I feel its time for me to revisit my basics of debating after being in it for more than 5 years now. The show doesn’t reflect what the true nature and meaning of debating is, and I feel for the panelists who are invited on the show as the show constantly in each and every show makes a mockery of debating skills as well as the panelists invited by not allowing them to say or voice out their opinion. If the show has to be a debating show its time Arnab understands clearly what debating actually is and realizes what wrong his show is doing otherwise that day isn’t far when the show will have to be called off-air and Arnab may well have to leave his job.
