Meditation

When I am asked “what are the main reasons to meditate?” the first thing that usually comes in my mind is that meditation just makes a person feel GREAT and ENERGETIC. It helps a person to feel alive and perform or do day to day activities with more energy and enthusiasm.

Meditation is generally of particular interest to people who are diagnosed with a serious or critical life threatening illness. People, who have serious medical problems like cancer, will sometimes start with meditation to enhance the process of healing and recovery. Meditation reduces stress better than anything else. It not only give us some “down time” to rest physically and mentally, it also have a very direct effect on our entire body by reducing our body’s stress related chemicals like cortisol, and increases the production of mood enhancing chemicals in our body like serotonin.

With meditation, the genetics undergoes certain changes and every cell in our body is filled with more energy. This results in more joy, peace and enthusiasm as the level of energy increases in the body.

On the physical level, meditation:

  • Lowers high blood pressure
  • Lowers the levels of blood lactate, reducing anxiety attacks
  • Decreases any tension-related pain, such as, tension headaches, muscle and joint problems.
  • Improves mood and behavior
  • Improves our immune system
  • Increases the energy level, as we gain an inner source of energy.

With regular practice of meditation:

  • Anxiety decreases
  • Emotional stability improves
  • Creativity increases
  • Happiness increases
  • peace of mind can be attained
  • Problems appears to be smaller
  • Meditation sharpens our mind by gaining focus

To experience the benefits of meditation, regular practice is very important. It takes only a few minutes or maximum an hour every day. Once started into the daily routine, meditation becomes the best part of your day! Meditation is like a seed. When we cultivate a seed with love, the more it blossoms. Busy people from all backgrounds are grateful to have a break in life and enjoy a refreshing few minutes of meditation each day. Go deep into yourself and cherish your life. Meditation is a very helpful for people who suffer from anxiety or depression, and it is also taught to people who have difficulty in controlling their anger. It has been studied that people who meditate regularly have less stress , are healthier, they sleep better, and they have a more positive outlook for life. In simple words, meditation makes you a happier person!
