Is money everything ?

All of us want a hefty pay package, loads of money in our bank accounts, cash in our pockets to meet our wants and wishes, right? But my question is, that does money mean everything to us today? Is it that important a driving force that without too much of it, we wouldn’t be as happy as we would want to be?

Well, money is important but basing your happiness, your achievements and your ambitions solely on the grounds of how much money you have or would want to earn is not justified at all. I know the society today judges a person more on materialistic fronts, and that is the reason why we’re all running this rat race of making it big, to earn big bucks. But when you run only after money and the things money can buy, trust me you’ll keep running forever. And this would steal your joy, peace and all other things that matter more than money like family, love, health, well being etc! We’ve all seen people who compromise on family time, health and other things to climb up in life and to earn that lavish lifestyle they always desired, but only to end up their lives in misery. What good does that do?

I’m not saying that working hard to realize one’s goals is bad. Of course, it is not. But what is incorrect is, basing them on materialistic grounds. Keeping one’s priorities straight and giving equal importance to values, satisfaction levels, happiness quotient is a wise thing to do! Basing the foundation of our goals and also measuring our success on these parameters along with giving necessary importance to money, will give our life a positive direction and will also keep us grounded always!

So, stop running after money! Just do your job really well, make yourself proud, become indispensable at your work place, be known for your integrity and sincerity…and then see how much more happy and satisfied you’ll feel. And then, who knows money may just start following you because of your excellence!  😀
