Hello friends we see numerous interviews everyday on our television screens and wonder how it all came together.

Interviews are basically an introduction to the interview to draw readers in and then  a transcript of the conversation structured as to  unveil a very ordinary person as a star someone very important and interesting.

Presenting him in such a way that the reader could somehow relate to him.

Such is an e.g. given below

The life of your everyday street vendor

We move through our lives day in day out so involved in our own sorrows that we forget that we live in a world full of stories. Stories of struggle and survival, such is the story of Prasant whom we all knew as the Nescafe wale bhayia..in the palm village locality of Delhi

1. Hello Prasant tell us about your self ?

Hii, I am Prasant Kumar from Muzafrpur Bihar .

I am street vendor at Satya Nikatan market Delhi.

I own a hotdog cart.

 

2. So when did u start working ?

I started working from the age of 12.

 

3.    That’s a very tender age to start working ,

isn’t it .why did u start so early?

Well I was not interested in studies , so being the  eldest  child  of the family I came to Delhi in search

of a job to support my family.

4.    So how long has it been in Delhi &  where is your family?
It’s been 4-5 years in Delhi, my parents are back at Bihar and my younger sisters live with me here at Patel nagar.

 
5.    So do you sometimes feel that  your life would have been something else if you hadn’t come to Delhi at  such a young age ?
No , I don’t fell so  I try to do my best to support my family. Apart from this I am doing my graduation through correspondence  and will apply in the railway

 

6.    What kind of job at the railway you hope for?
Well I hope for A class job of a driver but anything will do I have been also trying in the defense and various other places where ever I might find a job to support my family

 
7.    How often do you go home ?
I try to … but it’s not possible as I have to pay my brothers fee.

 

8.    So what is it that your  brother and sisters are doing?
I asked my brother what he wanted to do and he said BMLT, so he is doing BMLT from Darjeeling and one of my sister is preparing for PO & the other for CA.

 

9.    So u must be supporting your sister as well?
No ,my sisters support me quite the opposite .

 

10.                      Isn’t it quite unusual your sisters supporting you and  pursuing higher education?
No its not ,I was not that interested in studying so I dropped out while my sisters continued.

 

11.                      Everyone has something special ,there must be something that you’re interested in ?
I am interested in music ,music is my passion whenever I get the time I try something on my guitar though m not a very good player but I try my level best .

 

12.                      what did you do before this hotdog cart?
I worked at the Nescafe shop at kalindi college for 3-4 months before this .

 
13.                      So what are your plans for the future?
Well there is no plan other than  to survive .

 
14.                      If you get the opportunity will you take up music
Why not ill be more than happy to music is my passion and if I get the opportunity ill surely take it forward.” Music is my life”

 

 

You can see how Prasant has been displayed as a very uncommon common man with dreams and aspirations.

To some extent makes you wonder of the power the media holds today.
