Employees’ Safety

Employees' Safety

Last article which I wrote was on the topic Employees’ Health and this next is on the topic Employees’ Safety. Just like Employees’ Health, Employees’ Safety should also be one of the concerns of the organisation.
“Be careful,
The Best safety device is a careful worker, get the safety habit.”
It is the responsibility of every employer to ensure workers’ safety while they are at work. Safety measures not only results in reduced industrial accidents but also raise industrial efficiency. Therefore, employers should lay emphasis on safety measures in their plants.
Safety management refers to the act of protecting the physical well-being of the employees. In small organisations, the responsibility of running a safety program is assigned to some members of the management with the help of Production manager. Medium and large-scale organisations normally appoint a safety director to design and operate safety programs at the plant level. His/ Her role may include analysis of the job environment to prevent recurrence of accidents, and conducting research to prevent further accidents.
Industrial safety has an important influence on productivity particularly in hazardous industries like chemicals and fertilizers.
Safety brings consistency in production during the initial period and an upward trend in productivity in the long run.
Safety measures prevent accidents which are disastrous to both employees as well as employers. Every effort has, therefore, to be made by both the parties to take enough precautions and prevent accidents. Existence of strong safety measures boost the morale of workers. It helps in developing team spirit and sense of belongingness among the employees.
