“Recently on the morning of 7th January,2015 2 masked gunmen armed with assault rifles and other weapons forced their way into the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo office in Paris, killing 11 people and injuring 11 other.”
This was the news I was reading on 7th morning in The Hindu edition of that day. With shock and awe i was reading one of the worst incidents that can ever happen, but at what cost? Has the world or the so called terrorists groups become so religious fanatics that they’ve forgotten what satire is,to take humor light heartedly? Have they become so short tempered that today they can go to any length to keep people’s mouth shut or rather cartoonists mouth closed on the atrocities and the barbaricness that a particular religion promotes. What sort of revenge is this? If organizations like Al Qaeda and people like Said & Cherif Kouachi are so concerned about the pride of Prophet Muhammad then I would request them to first see within their religion why the world makes fun of it,how barbaric its laws are which promote things like pseudomy to say the least, before snatching away others freedom of speech through these attacks they should look at what activities they are doing,how correct are they,how many people have they killed through terrorism. My dear terrorists Islam never teaches people to kill others or hate them just because they’ve satirically attacked Prophet Muhammad but instead these issues require a rational thinking in a light hearted manner on whether these satire’s actually are true practically about their religion. It is laughable that by attacking Paris Al Qaeda and the Kouachi brothers have shown that they are false Islamists who are blinded by the fact that whoever speak against their religion should be killed away immediately. When countries like Iran,Saudi Arabia,Jordan,etc as well as Egypt’s Al-Azhar University the leading Sunni institution denounce these attacks and feel ashamed that such attacks were done by their Islamic brothers, it makes me wonder whether terrorists organizations in the name of Islam are really following the teachings of the Prophet or is it just a false premonition? All said and done, I pray that may God give these terrorists organizations and all people who lead these attacks a thinking cap so that they are able to realize that by taking others freedom of speech and expression away they are harming their religion and not just that they are harming every Parisians image about Islamic people and making the living of Muslims more and more tougher in Paris,what with now every Parisian criticizing them for killing their fellow citizens what good have they done through this may I ask?
