Blackberry-on a track to demise

Remember when having a blackberry smartphone was such a big thing! You could flaunt it literally in front of every one! But then,it was before 2007.Now the Blackberry smartphone is on a track to demise.Its sad when I say this because this phone was once a huge success.But then the truth is always bitter.Lets looks at some of the reasons that are leading the company to a dead end.

1. losing out too fast on the market share-

The great demand for google android and apple iphones by the consumers has led to decrease in sales of the blackberry smartphones as compared to what the analysts expected in the last quarter.Blackberry smartphone is the company’s signature product and is losing the ground too fast.RIM (research in motion) launched a new playbook tablet in order to gain customers and boost the sales of handsets also.But this effort is also futile.Moreover,google’s motorola and nexus and iphone 5 and 6 have been such a success that blackberry and RIM are on the track to demise.

2. Cross selling game-Now everyone wants an ipad or an iphone for their birthdays.Then they suddenly realise that a Mac is also needed.RIM developed the playbook tablets with the view to satisfy all of the customer needs-its only chance to get into that game.But it was a big flop.Only around 2,00,000 units could be sold.For RIM,the cross selling game is nearly over because in this techworld,the winner gets it all.

3. A clumsy product with very few apps-

One way to explain this is through an example-compare the metal wheels and the best ceat tyres.That is what the difference is between the apple and android apps and services and blackberry apps and services.The cases of accidental auto dials are also very high in blackberry.The small screen size,the displacement of buttons from one model to the next e.t.c. are some other problems.This product is not made according to the current times and needs of our generation .For a fact,as compared to about 35,000 apps in blackberry, 2,00,000 apps are there in android and 4,25,000 apps in apple.

4. Low prices Won’t Help-Lower pricing wont help RIM.There are other better companies than blackberry already selling good products at lower prices like HP which sold its new touch pad at a fire sale of 99 us dollars.Moreover,consider this fact that apple’s iphone is selling all over the world and that it’s a huge success despite of such a high price tag which may even cross 500 us dollars.Blackberry is truly on a path to demise.
