Stress “is a serious havoc of twenty first century. Modern world is full frustrations, demands, and deadliness. Everyone is suffering from one of the other stress problems whether it is a stress of a job or of a divorce or of a breakup or of death of loved ones or anything else. Almost very next individual is suffering from his or her own dilemma.

We lived in a world overrun by stress. The competitive world, global urbanization, and the spread of technology have made everyone accountable for their own actions and whereabouts 24/7 and they are losing their privacy and down time. But, like two headed face coin the term stress too has its impacts, either its good or bad depending upon their respective situations- it helps to stay focused, encouraged, energetic and alert; and, when turns beyond your comfort zones, stress strong being helpful and can start causing major damage to your mind or body.

Stress, stress, stress... very famous word effortlessly established its roots in the modern world. Stress has become the celebrity during the passage of time. But in reality, what this term stress means? Stress is a pressure or tension extended on a material object, or, it’s a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or demanding circumstances or a way your body responds to any kind of threat or demand.

Even, we have often experienced when we feel threatened, our heart pounds faster, muscles tighten, blood pressure rises, breath quickens , and our sense become sharper.  The human nervous system counters anxiety by discharging stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol, which alerts the body for emergency action.

This is not the end, there are a lot more. There is lot of health problems caused or exacerbated by stress, including:
• Pain of any kind
• Heart diseases
• Digestive problems
• Sleep problems
• Depression
• Weight problems
• Auto immune diseases
• Skin conditions, such as, eczema.

But how do we get to know that the respective person is suffering from such a hazardous disease? There are a lot of signs and symptoms of chronic stress, divided into categories, as
a) Mental symptoms– They consists of symptoms of memory related problems, low concentration, low judgment ability, always visualizing the negative aspect, anxious or racing thought, constant worrying.
b) Sentimental symptoms – They consists of symptoms as, being irritant, moody, having a short temper, being agitated, unable to relax, feeling lonely and isolated, being depressed or unhappy.
c) Physical symptom– They consists of symptoms of feeling body aches, having regular constipation, feeling dizzy, experiencing pain in chest, having increased heartbeat, low sex drive, having frequent colds.
d) Behavioral symptoms– The symptoms are loss of hunger or eating less, needing too much or very less sleep, isolating oneself and being less social, increased intake of alcohol , cigarette or drugs to relax nervous anxieties.

There are ways to curb all these problems. ‘In life, there’s always a solution to a problem’, says Professor Cary Cooper, an occupational expert at the University of Lancaster. “Not taking control of the situation and doing nothing will only make your problems worse.

Hence, there is a need of stress busters to help “fill up the tanks!” Have a look at some stress busters suggestions:
a) Be active: physical activity proved to be the best solution if a person is suffering from the problems of stress problem. It leads to the right state of mind to be able to analyze the real cause of the stress of an individual. Working out reduces the feelings of depression and stress.
“Those who think they have not time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness.”- Joey Adams.
Hence, do exercise to be active and become a soul with sound mind.

b) Take control: there always a solution to each and every problem. “If you remain, passive, thinking, ‘I can’t do anything about my problem ‘, your stress will get worse “says Professor Cooper. Nothing is impossible. Your thoughts are the framework of your own mind; hence, the act of taking control is in itself empowering tool.

c) Connect with people: another best way, connecting with loved ones. A problem shared is problem halved. Say no to isolation and yes to a good support of network of colleagues, friends and family who can ease your troubles and tough times.

d) Be positive: the most crucial stress busters. Look for the positive in life. Think positive when you are viewing the future; don’t allow negative thoughts to let in. Have confidence in yourself!
There are many more stress busters such as have some ‘me time’, challenge yourself, avoid unhealthy habits, help others, work smarter, and accept the things you can’t change. Its solely depends upon you how you deal with your stress.
