Types of Learning Styles

Learning Styles

Learning & development have become an integral part of every organization’s structure. As there is a constant need for up gradation in the employees’ skills. a well developed and effective learning program can help in doing this efficiently and economically. It helps in understanding the types of learning styles and frames the courses keeping the learning preference of the individuals in mind.

Learning Styles

Mainly there are three types of learning styles:

  • The visual: in this the learner gets the information in the visual form. The visual form involves the – the flow chart, graphs, and map, etc. Some learners prefer to watch the live demonstration instead of reading about it. The visual includes the video clips or animations of the equipment’s working.
  • The auditory: in this the information is delivered in the audio form to the learners. It is for those who prefer to hear instead of watching, they favor the oral presentations over the written reports. To make it perfect for the learners, the trainer should make sure to include the videos with auditory explanations and also the group discussions. Including them will prove to be beneficial for the learner.
  • The Kinaesthetic: this type of learners needs the action. Their best way of learning is when they do it themselves. They are the task-oriented type and have the zeal to explore by experimenting. The hands-on training projects are the best suited to them. The ideal learning material for them is – puzzles, jigsaw, role-plays, worksheets, experiments kits, etc.
