Workforce Staffing (WFS), a division of Worldwide Operations People, Product & Tech, manages Amazon’s Tier 1 talent supply chain. We attract, hire, and onboard the associates who, by fulfilling orders at the frontlines of the company, make Amazon a global leader in delivery and logistics. We seek a highly skilled and motivated Manager of Workforce Operations to lead our India high volume hiring program. This manager leads a broad set of teams that plan, execute and analyze the critical labor acquisition functions for hourly hiring in existing and newly launching businesses. From capacity forecasting, candidate engagement, to labor delivery execution through various supply chains and risk forecasting, this team collaborates across a wide spectrum of business partners to improve Amazon’s labor cost, capacity and customer experience.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytics background that enables him/her to manage quantitative planning and a demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically about the talent supply chain. This individual will lead the analysis of labor supply and demand across number of prefectures in Japan composed of multiple Amazon business lines. He/she will collaborate with the centralized applicant sourcing, advertising, analytics, business operations and finance teams to deliver effective delivery of workforce strategies across different employee types.
- Stakeholder management including, Operations, HR, Finance, Legal, PR, Training, Health and Safety and external Recruitment partners.
- Develop resourcing and labor market strategies for existing and new locations
- Establish and help to maintain agency working relationships across all parties and all sites. Monitor consistency with Employee Relations issues and decisions.
- Project labor management and vendor management to ensure that the network is supplied with sufficient quality temporary labor when required.
- Monitor and ensure staffing agencies meet agreed service level agreements, follow up if required. Be responsible for production of metrics relating to temporary staffing and the contingent workforce.
- Understand and be involved n Workforce Planning requirements. Ensure planning team is kept up to date with current labor supply, highlighting any concerns in a timely manner.
- Co-ordinate regular meetings between agencies and Amazon to drive best practice across the Region. Audit agencies regularly on quality of assessment and recruitment processes.
- Developing a culture of continuous improvement within resource management processes on site and in the wider network, driving the use of best practice
- Take the lead on the roll-out of initiations across the region and India network
- Review and establish causes for unfavorable trends in the metrics and provide and implement root cause analysis and solutions
- Ensure compliance with legislation in India.
- Recruit, develop and manage local onsite staffing teams.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Demonstrable leadership in a fast paced, data driven operational environment
- Knowledge and understanding of best practice recruitment or similar operational processes
- Experience in the development and management of a geographically dispersed team
- Able to travel India wide, as appropriate
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Human resources is a plus
- Strong stakeholder management with a proven ability to consult and influence others
- Previous recruitment experience overseeing either agency and/or direct hire sourcing models in a high volume environment
- Comfortable working at scale in a large organization.
- Experience with managing large-scale organizational change.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate strategy into operational plans and business results.
