Delhi University placement began with a bang

The placement process by Central Placement Cell (CPC) began on November 8, 2011 (Tuesday) at Delhi University (DU) with 4 companies visiting the campus to hire final-year students as well as those pursuing post-graduation. With over 800 students that turned up for the recruitment process, around 22 students have been offered job for sales and marketing profile by a job portal and an NGO has taken resumes of students along for selection in the first round of central placement. The average salary offered to the candidates is Rs. 2.5 lakhs, as per officials of CPC. 

 

A Japanese company is expected to visit the campus in the next round of placement to be held on January 29, 2011 (Sunday). The Japanese company will be offering the highest placement offer of Rs 1.25 lakh per month for sales job in Tokyo for first 3 years. As per records the highest package offered last year was Rs 5.5 lakh per annum to a post-graduate student for finance profile. The lowest annual package offered was Rs 2.10 lakh.
