Implementation of Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) have different options. Unlike Six Sigma, which is commonly driven by DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) has a number of step wise processes, all in the style of the DMAIC.
Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) is sometimes synonymously referred to as DMADV (define, measure, analyze, design, verify). Although alternatives such as IDOV (Identify, Design, Optimize, Verify) are also used.
DMADV stands for its five phases of implementation.
