Choosing Suitable Training Methods

Choosing suitable training methods- Training methods come in all shapes and sizes. Training choices are not limited to just one type you can choose them from various types of methods. The training method you choose varies according to the group of attendees and topic of training. This enables you to choose one technique for a single type of training.

The five types of training methods are:

  1. Classroom training
  2. Interactive training
  3. On-the-Job training
  4. Computer training
  5. Web-based training

Various ways to select the correct method for every type of training are:

DETERMINE THE GOALS FOR THE TRAINING

Some types of training provide new skills to employees, while other training provides new methods to apply current skills. Also, some training imparts activities that make a company harmless or a better place to work.

RECOGNIZE THE AUDIENCE

You should know your trainees before selecting a training method. The way you train the employees varies on the basis of whether the trainees are new employees, seasoned employees of the company. Also, the skill level of the audience affects the training method that a trainer selects.

CONSTRAINTS

Companies have to offer training under some specific constraints. As classroom training is ideal for upper management learning skills and techniques. But classroom training requires large amount of budget. On the other hand a computer-based or web-based training fit into the training budget itself. Other constraints to consider are while choosing a training are- time and the training resources available for the training.
