Quality Managment Process

Quality management refers to act of doing activities and tasks needed to obtain a desired level of excellence. Moreover, in manufacturing organization, production manager and the quality control manager often argue and debate the evidence before them, the rights and wrongs of the specification.

  • A business process refers to a group of tasks which results in a specific service or product for customers.
  • Moreover, we can easily understand it using flowchart or a process matrix.
  • Above all, business processes are basic to every company’s performance and implement the business strategy.
  • And, understanding and optimizing the business process is the core of six sigma.

 

Normally, organizations treat the signs of a process performance issue without understanding the main issue. That is to say, understanding root cause for process performance is effective process improvement which can be achieved by six sigma.

Moreover, process ontains three elements of inputs, process and outputs that affect its function. Similarily, business process is a collection of related activities that produce something of value to the organization, its stakeholders or its customers.

Types of Quality Management Processes

Management processes – These processes control the operation of a system. For example, planning, corporate governance, etc.

Operational processes – These processes develops the primary value stream for the customers. Hence, they are also called ‘core business processes’. For example, purchasing of raw materials, manufacturing of goods, etc.

Supporting processes – These processes support the core business processes of the organization. It incldues accounting, technical support, etc.

Business System

A group of business processes which combines to form a single and identifiable unit of business as a whole is a Business System. Above all, it includes processes, which are composed of sub-processes and individual tasks. Moreover, to better understand Business System please see the below points,

  • A business system is a system that basically implements a process or a set of processes.

Process Control in Quality Management

This is a feedback which comes from the process, and is used for process control. Moroever, it focus on the input and output of the process for data collection.

Above all, every sub-process or task act as an input to next task or as output for previous one. And, achieving best resources usage by a process though keeping quality output by

  • Applying feedback loop for collecting data from various process stages.
  • Re-design the process for data collection, analysis and improvisation as part of the process.

However, a real-time feedback will begin improvisation quickly. Thus, tools like control chart helps in data collection and analysis as well.

Most importantly, the control of quality can only take place at the point of operation or production. And, the act of inspection is not quality control or quality assurance but both are
