Quality Management System

Need and Basics of QMS

A quality management system refers to an assembly of components, such as the management structure, responsibilities, processes, and resources for implementing total quality management. Moreover, these components interact and can affect by being in the system. So, the isolation and study of each one in detail will not necessarily lead to an understanding of the system as a whole. Above all, the interactions between the components like materials and processes, people and responsibilities are just as important as the components themselves.

Aim of the Quality Management System

The main aim of a good QMS is to provide the ‘operator’ of the process with stability and satisfaction in terms of methods, materials, equipment, etc. Moreover, successful organizations use international standards on quality management systems that are available. And, ISO 9000:2000 ‘Quality Management Systems’ specifies systems that can be implemented in an organization. In addition, to ensure that all the product/service performance requirements and needs of the customer are fully met.

A good quality management system will ensure that two important requirements
The customer’s requirements
  • That is to say to provide confidence in the ability of the organization to deliver the desired product.
The organization’s requirements
  • This includes both internally and externally including regulatory, and at an optimum cost, with efficient utilization of the resources available.

Most importantly, the requirements can be truly met only after providing objective evidence in the form of information and data. Moreover, the adoption of a QMS is a strategic decision and it influences the organization’s objectives in terms of design.
