Mouse Troubleshooting
It is an input device which to select data, menus using a cursor. Optical mouse which uses change in light to detect movement is used these days as earlier mechanical using ball in bottom was used. It connects to computer by PS/2 or USB connector. Mouse problems are no cursor movement or loose connectors, and troubleshooting involves
- Check for proper plugging of the mouse cable into PC.
 - Examine for pins in the connector for any damaged.
 - Attach a working mouse to PC and verify, if new mouse is working.
 
Mouse Maintenance
Most of the optical mouse does not need any maintenance but for old mouse follow
- Mechanical mice always need cleaning. Remove the mouse ball to access the X and Y rollers.
 - Dust can be removed by rubbing alcohol and a toothpick to free the particles. The ball can also be cleaned with an alcohol-dampened cloth.
 - You can also blow air by blower to remove the remaining particles out.
