analog video like Video Graphics Array (VGA) could display 16 colors at 640 × 480 pixels or 256 colors at 320 × 200 pixels and SuperVGA (SVGA) which could support 16 colors at a resolution of 800 × 600 and expanded to support 1,024 × 768 pixels with 256 colors. Digital displays involves Digital Visual Interface (DVI) and High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) technology.
Troubleshoot Monitor
- Check for loose electrical and video signal cables.
- Check for bad contrast/brightness adjustments.
- Check for correct refresh rate, resolution and color depth as per the video card and OS.
- Attach the monitor to different computer.
- Try different screen resolutions to resolve the problem.
