Mobile phones have seen unprecedented rise in ownership and widespread access amongst citizens across India due to lower costs of device and tariff plans whilst providing easy connectivity to all strata of society. Various E-Government projects have utilized mobile phone based implementation to deliver government services to citizens. Success of mobile phone based implementation relies primarily to the tele-density and strength of mobile connectivity in the region where E-Government project are to be implemented. Power availability also plays an vital role in success of mobile phone based implementation strategy.
Information delivery based solutions related to e-Governance are implemented under this scheme of implementation as citizens on general do not posses a smart phone for usage of E-Government related activities by a mobile phone application.
