Insert and Modify Content in Headers and Footers

Headers and footers are useful for adding repeating content, such as page numbers or a company logo, to a Microsoft Word document. Here’s how to insert and modify content in headers and footers in Microsoft Word:

Double-click at the top or bottom of the page to open the header or footer section.

In the “Header & Footer Tools” tab that appears, click on the “Insert” tab.

Use the buttons in the “Header & Footer Elements” section to add various types of content to the header or footer, such as page numbers, date and time, or a picture.

Once you’ve inserted the content, you can modify its formatting, such as the font size, color, or alignment, using the “Home” tab in the ribbon.

You can also use the “Header & Footer Tools” tab to format the header or footer section itself, such as changing its height or width, or adding a border.

To close the header or footer section and return to the main document, double-click outside the header or footer area.

If you want to modify the content in the header or footer on a specific page, you can use the “Different First Page” or “Different Odd & Even Pages” options in the “Header & Footer Tools” tab to customize the content for that page.

By following these steps, you can insert and modify content in headers and footers in Microsoft Word to add useful information or branding to your document.
