Code of Conduct

It has been an endeavour and commitment of the Institute to facilitate quality education in the field of Interior Design. We believe that Interior Design in this millennium has become an independent Profession and practitioners of same have to be well trained and educated capable of offering their services to society with utmost integrity. To achieve this, efforts are continuously taken through the Education Committee formed by the President.

Primarily there is a threefold approach adopted to reach the goal
A Three Year Programme has been formulated by the Institute which includes besides Design, subjects imparting knowledge in Humanities, Materials, Drafting Skills, Workshop Training etc. We have also specified the minimum Space required as well as Faculty structure necessary to successfully implement the Programme.

  • We lend to Institutes desirous of starting Interior Design Courses the Three Year Programme, guide them in implementation of same by exchanging thoughts and ideas with Faculty and Management. Representatives from the IIID-Education Committee visit the Institute once in two years with a view to interact with the Management, Staff and Students to help achieve higher bench marks. Institutes desirous of taking up this course and upon IIID being satisfied with the Institute having minimum requirements of space and staff, need to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with IIID. Students having successfully passed from these Institutes become eligible to Membership of IIID.
  • To encourage students and applaud them a Students Scholarship is instituted. Eligibility is students pursuing Interior Design Courses from Institutes affiliated to recognized Universities, State Technical Boards, Institutes following the IIID Three Year Programme or other Institutes offering Three Year Programme in Interior Design.
  • There are Institutes offering Three or more Years of Interior Design Courses but not affiliated to Universities or Technical Boards. Students from such Institutes are not eligible to become members of IIID. It is realized that quality professionals are trained by such Institutes who are disadvantaged by not becoming part of IIID. In case such Institutes desire to come in fold of IIID, representatives of Education Committee would visit to inspect such Institutes and on finding a high education standard recognize them thus paving way for passing students to be members of IIID.

The Education Committee is committed to better education in Interior Design which is now making a distinct mark as a profession in nation building. We encourage Institutes and Design Professionals to partner with us to achieve IIID’s goals.
