Business Manager

Business Manager is a free Facebook tool to organize and manage your business. When you join Business Manager, coworkers won’t be able to view your personal Facebook profile unless you’ve approved their friend request.

Coworkers can only see your name, the work email address you provide when you log into Business Manager for the first time and the list of Pages and ad account you have access to.

Business Manager is a free Facebook platform that helps advertisers integrate Facebook marketing efforts across their business and with external partners. You’ll be able to run and track your ads, manage assets such as your Pages and ad accounts, and add an agency or marketing partners to help manage your business.

Creating a Business Manager doesn’t mean you’re transitioning profiles, but instead means you’re creating a central space to manage your business separate from your personal Facebook profile. You’ll manage your Pages and ad accounts in Business Manager once you create it, so you’ll never have to worry about mixing business content with your personal content.

Business Manager accounts are created with your personal Facebook profile to verify your identity so you must have a personal Facebook username and password to sign into Business Manager. This is similar to logging in with Facebook to access other apps or services. It’s more secure than using just an email address and password to log in.

Business Manager is a platform for everyone. Small to large businesses use Business Manager to keep organized by having all of their business assets and information in one place. When you have a central business hub like Business Manager, your business maintains control of your Facebook assets and securely manages user access to the right people and right credit lines.

People who have access to your Pages before you transfer them to Business Manager will maintain their access to them and none of your ads will be interrupted.

Create a Business Manager if..

  • Your business has a marketing team: You have more than 1 person working on your business marketing or more than 1 person managing your current Facebook or Instagram business presence.
  • You manage assets: You manage multiple Facebook or Instagram assets such as Facebook Pages, ad accounts, or apps.
  • You use a vendor: You work with vendors to help create, run, or manage your Pages or ads, but want your business to maintain ownership of all Pages, ad accounts, and assets.
  • You need control over access and permissions: You want to maintain complete jurisdiction over your assets without attributing ownership to individuals who assist your business operations.
  • You want your business to grow: You want the ability to request access to other pages, ad accounts, and apps, or share your pages, ads accounts, and apps with other agencies.
