Living in the age of computers, every organization needs a system that can manage departments within an organization and store data effectively so that it is easy to access . Management Information System or MIS is one such system. It is a computer based system that allows managers with the tools to organize, evaluate and efficiently manage departments within an organizations. In this the computerized systems continuously gather data from in and outside of the organization, then it is processed into information and it is then stored in a database.

Such a system helps in decision making, data resources, the hardware resources of a system, decision support system people management and project management applications, and any computerized processes that enables the department to run efficiently. It represents the electronic automation of different kind of counting, tallying, record keeping and accounting techniques. The main objectives of MIS are capturing data then processing data ,that is data is processed into information needed for planning and organizing then that information is stored . MIS has become an integral part almost every business big or small . Managing everything has become easier, and not only managing but it also allows us to evaluate the status of the business whether the conditions are improving or deteriorating.

It is definitely the most efficient system for managing data in any organization. It has many advantages such as it gives overall picture of the organization and one can easily easily identify a companies strengths and weaknesses, and help it improve its business process and operations. The effective management of customer data can also be helpful in many ways as it can help make better marketing strategies. It also acts as a communication and planning tool. Any organization starts functioning in a more organized way and helps it gain a competitive advantage over other companies.

In this era of internet, when everything is going online and up on the computers it is getting easier to access any record at any point of time.Everything is just a click away.On the other hand the rise of cyber crimes is also one of the growing concern across the world.

While the number of people using credit/debit cards, internet banking, phone banking etc is increasing ,the cases of online identity theft are also on the rise.Identity theft is basically stealing someones identity and using their personal information to gain access to resources ,credit and other benefits. It is the fastest growing crime in today’s time.It can damage your financial ratings and credit ratings.People are becoming more and more vulnerable to such type of crimes.

The number of online identity theft is increasing very rapidly. There are many ways in which personal information can be obtained and exploited for identity theft such as stealing credit card and bank statements ,through shoulder surfing ,stealing of important documents, dumpster diving, hacking computer networks, systems and databases . Also the fraud calls and messages are made to obtain bank account details. All this may lead to fraudulent loans and credit/debit card may be applied for in the name of the victim. The victim may not realize this fraud for a long time.Their are many ways in which one can protect themselves from becoming a victim of such type of crimes.Shredding financial documents and personal information documents before throwing them in trash, checking bank account and credit card statements carefully, never access financial accounts on public networks,do not write ATM pin on the card and signing them as soon as you receive them, looking out for fraud calls trying to access your personal and financial details.

The rise in such type of crimes is definitely not a good sign as everything these days is going online but if we are aware and alert of the ways to protect ourselves from identity theft then we can stay away from causing ourselves such damage.

Recently we have witnessed the decrease in the value of rupee against the US dollar .There are several reasons that are responsible for the depreciation in the value for the Indian currency. The value of currency increases or decreases with factors that affect the economy such as imports and exports, inflation, growth rate, performance of equity markets, foreign investment inflows, commodity prices and geopolitical conditions.

When income of people increases, they tend to spend more money which in turn increases the demand of commodities.Higher demand for imported goods increases the demand for foreign currencies, thus weakening the local currency.

India imports more goods than it exports ,which causes huge imbalance in trade also known as trade deficit which results in strengthening the currency of the country from which the goods are imported .Another factor is the difference in interest rates between countries. Let us consider the recent RBI move to deregulate interest rates on savings deposits and fixed deposits held by non-resident Indians (NRIs). The move was part of a series of steps to stem the fall in the rupee. By allowing banks to increase interest rates on NRI rupee accounts and bring them on a par with domestic term deposit rates, the RBI expects fund inflows from NRIs, triggering a rise in demand for rupees and an increase in its value.

High inflation is also one of the reasons in the decreasing value of money.Prices of commodities rise when either goods or services are scarce or money is in access supply. The increase in prices indicates that the purchasing power of money has decreased resulting in reduced consumption of commodities, imports becoming costlier and loss of industrialists.

Only the prices of oil have remained majorly benign this year ,which might keep some pressure off the rupee but may not be able to save it from falling. The falling value of rupee is definitely not a good sign for Indian economy.
