The anxiety and stress produced by sexual harassment commonly lead to those subjected to it taking time off due to sickness, being less efficient at work, or leaving their job to seek work elsewhere.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the reasons why women remain silent about sexual harassment. An absence of complaints about sexual harassment does not necessarily mean an<\/li>\n<li>Absence of sexual harassment. It may mean that the recipients of sexual harassment think that there is no point in complaining because:<\/li>\n<li>Nothing will be done about it;<\/li>\n<li>It will be trivialized;<\/li>\n<li>The complaints will be subjected to ridicule, or<\/li>\n<li>They fear reprisals.<\/li>\n<li>Recognize the tangible and intangible expenses and losses organizations experience:<\/li>\n<li>Costly investigation and litigation<\/li>\n<li>Negative exposure and publicity<\/li>\n<li>Embarrassing depositions<\/li>\n<li>Lowered employee morale<\/li>\n<li>Reduced productivity<\/li>\n<li>Decreased efficiency<\/li>\n<li>Higher employee turnover<\/li>\n<li>Erosion of the organization\u2019s brand name, goodwill, and public image<\/li>\n<li>Negative impact on stock price<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The best way to prevent sexual harassment is to adopt a comprehensive sexual harassment policy.
