{"id":18773,"date":"2013-05-08T15:52:14","date_gmt":"2013-05-08T10:22:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vskills.in\/certification\/tutorial\/?p=18773"},"modified":"2024-04-12T14:24:22","modified_gmt":"2024-04-12T08:54:22","slug":"protect-cells-worksheets-and-workbooks","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.vskills.in\/certification\/tutorial\/protect-cells-worksheets-and-workbooks\/","title":{"rendered":"Protect Cells, Worksheets, and Workbooks"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong>Protect Cells, Worksheets, and Workbooks<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h3><b>Workbook window protection<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0<i>Tools, Protection, Protect Workbook<\/i>\u00a0command enables you to protect a workbook so no one can add or delete sheets or resize or move the workbook window.<\/p>\n<h3><b>Workbook file protection<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how to save a workbook in such a way that you must supply a password to open or modify it:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In Excel 97, select\u00a0<i>File, Save As<\/i>\u00a0to display the Save As dialog box; then click Options in that box to call up the Save Options dialog.<\/li>\n<li>In Excel 2000 and later, select\u00a0<i>Tools, General Options<\/i>\u00a0when the Save As dialog box appears. If you enter a password in the &#8220;Password to open&#8221; field, the user must provide the correct password to open the file. If you enter a password in the &#8220;Password to modify&#8221; field, the user must give the right password to make changes to the file.
