Replication<\/strong> in Microsoft DNS ensures that DNS data is synchronized across multiple DNS servers, providing redundancy and improving fault tolerance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>Types of Replication:<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

  1. Active Directory-integrated zones:<\/strong> If your DNS servers are integrated with Active Directory, replication is handled automatically by Active Directory replication.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Standard primary zones:<\/strong> For standard primary zones, you can configure replication manually.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    1. Open DNS Manager:<\/strong> Launch the DNS Manager console.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Right-click on the zone name:<\/strong> Select “Properties.”<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Go to the “Replication” tab:<\/strong> Click on the “Replication” tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Configure replication settings:<\/strong>
      \u2022 Master server:<\/strong> If this is the master server for the zone, leave the “Master server” field blank.
      \u2022 Slave servers:<\/strong> If this is a slave server, enter the IP address or hostname of the master server.<\/span>
      \u2022 Allow zone transfers:<\/strong> Enable this option to allow other DNS servers to transfer the zone data from this server.<\/span>
      \u2022 Require secure dynamic updates:<\/strong> If you want to require secure dynamic updates from other servers, enable this option.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
