A stationary time series is easier to model and forecast using techniques like the AutoRegressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Types of Stationarity<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two main types of stationarity:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Strict stationarity:<\/strong> A time series is strictly stationary if its joint probability distribution remains constant over time. This is a strong condition that is often difficult to achieve in practice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Weak stationarity:<\/strong> A time series is weakly stationary, also known as covariance stationarity, if its mean, variance, and autocovariance functions remain constant over time.
