It also gives the facility to paste as transpose i.e. row and column data interchange to be pasted in column and row instead of row and column.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Merge Cells<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cells in Excel can be merged so that they span on more than one row and column. Steps to merge cells are given below<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Select the cells we want to merge<\/li><li>To merge cells in a row and center the cell contents, click Merge and Center on the Formatting toolbar<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To merge any selection of cells within a row or column, click Cells on the Format menu, click the Alignment tab, and then select the Merge cells check box<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Inserting cells<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Insert blank cells<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Select a range of existing cells where we want to insert the new blank cells. Select the same number of cells, as we want to insert<\/li><li>On the Insert menu, click Cells<\/li><li>Click Shift cells right or Shift cells down<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Insert rows<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To insert a single row, click a cell in the row immediately below where we want the new row. For example, to insert a new row above Row 5, click a cell in Row 5<\/li><li>To insert multiple rows, select rows immediately below where we want the new rows. Select the same number of rows, as we want to insert<\/li><li>On the Insert menu, click Rows<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Insert columns<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To insert a single column, click a cell in the column immediately to the right of where we want to insert the new column. For example, to insert a new column to the left of Column B, click a cell in Column B<\/li><li>To insert multiple columns, select columns immediately to the right of where we want to insert the new columns. Select the same number of columns, as we want to insert<\/li><li>On the Insert menu, click Columns<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Insert moved or copied cells between existing cells<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Select the cells that contain the data we want to move or copy.<\/li><li>To move the selection, click Cut. To copy the selection, click Copy.<\/li><li>Select the upper-left cell where we want to place the cut or copied cells.<\/li><li>On the Insert menu, click Cut Cells or Copied Cells.<\/li><li>Click the direction we want to shift the surrounding cells.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Delete cells, rows, or columns<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following steps have to be taken<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Select the cells, rows, or columns you want to delete<\/li><li>On the Edit menu, click Delete<\/li><li>Surrounding cells shift to fill the space<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Clearing cells<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This process requires following steps<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Select the cells, rows, or columns we want to clear<\/li><li>On the Edit menu, point to Clear, and then click All, Contents, Formats, or CommentsFurther, if we click a cell and then press DELETE or BACKSPACE, Microsoft Excel removes the cell contents but does not remove any comments or cell formats. If we clear a cell, Microsoft Excel removes the contents, formats, comments, or all three from a cell. The value of a cleared cell is 0 (zero), and a formula that refers to that cell will receive a value of 0.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Find, Replace and go to<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike MS-Word, Ms-EXCEL has different dialog boxes for go to and a combined for find and replace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Operation<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Keyboard shortcut<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Edit menu option<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Find<\/td><td>Control key then, F key<\/td><td>Find<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Replace<\/td><td>Control key then, H key<\/td><td>Replace<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Go To<\/td><td>Control key then, G key<\/td><td>Go To<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cell Paste Special In edit menu this option provides the facility to paste all, formula, formats or values, which have been copied or cut.
