It is a schematic that shows where merchandise and customer service departments are located, how customers circulate through the store, and how much space is dedicated to each department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an activity of drawing to scale of the layout of rooms and facilities on a floor of a store. Various things planned under this are; the office, the backroom, space allocation of various merchandise departments, positions of fixtures &amp; gondolas, cash tills &amp; their positions, aisle areas, services areas and other non-selling areas of the sales floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vskills.in\/lms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Image-18-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-150082\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A sample Floor-Plan (3D-view)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Business rules &amp; adjacencies are followed while planning the floor space. Some examples of such business rules &amp; adjacencies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Store to start with Foot fall drivers<\/li><li>Floor circulation to take customer through the growth drivers<\/li><li>Destination category to be placed at the end of the store<\/li><li>Prime location should enhance the core value (expression) of the store<\/li><li>Promotional area should reinforce the image of the store<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There are various forms of store layout. The free flow, grid form, loop layout &amp; spine layout are some of the common store layout forms. The layouts when laid down well, contribute to enhance profit of the store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Free-Flow Layout is a type of store layout in<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vskills.in\/lms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Image-17-5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"657\"><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>which fixtures and merchandise are grouped<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>into free-flowing patterns on the sales floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Grid Layout is a type of store layout in which<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>counters and fixtures are placed in long rows or<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cruns,\u201d usually at right angles, throughout the<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Loop\/Race Track Layout is a type of store<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>layout in which a major customer aisle begins<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>at the entrance, loops through the store,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>usually in the shape of a circle, square, ar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>rectangle, and then returns the customer the<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>front of the store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Spine Layout is a type of store layout in<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>which a single main aisle runs from the front<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>to the back of the store, transporting<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>customers in both directions, and where on<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>either side of this spine, merchandise<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>departments using either a free-flow or grid<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>pattern branch off toward the back aisle walls.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Floor Planning is a Macro level planning of the floor space of the store.
