Backlog

A sprint backlog refers to a tool that the project team uses in order to track the details of their day-to-day work for each iteration. Further, this includes breaking down each business activity into specific asks that the project team members need to complete in order to meet the requirement.

Characteristics: Sprint Backlog

  • Firstly, it has a dynamic nature which means sprint changes repetitively to reach the goal. Also, a good practice keeps the backlog to reach the goal as stable as possible.
  • Secondly, the team members go back to pick the prioritized specifications from the product backlog during the sprint planning sessions.
  • It is an end result of the Sprint planning meeting sessions.
  • It helps in recognizing the work to the development team as ‘necessary’ to meet the Sprint goal.
  • Here in this session, the Scrum team effectively works on preparing how the user stories would be implemented in the sprint by dividing those into further sub-tasks and estimation of it.
  • Lastly, for each Sprint, the team members execute a planning document based on the requirements and market value priority in the product.
