Life is akin to a bright moon, which still has a dark side to it. Whether or not visible to the naked eye.<\/p>\n

Likewise, every step of life deals with two sides- a positive and a negative. One should face and conquer both the aspects with equal courage and optimism in heart.<\/p>\n

A very important dimension that consists of a similar outlook is the role of staffing in Human Resource Management. Staffing is a primitive action that has to be performed by a manager. Keeping constant records and needs of the workforce in an organisation is a function that can never be avoided.<\/p>\n

As we know, the success of an organisation does not depend upon its physical and financial resources, but upon their usage by the human resources. Thus, hardworking and efficient people are the most important asset of an organisation. The key to success of an organisation is to place right person, at the right job position, having the right qualification, at the right time.<\/p>\n

Staffing can be primarily defined as a managerial function of filling and keeping the filled positions within the organisation structure. Important components of staffing being: Recruitment, Selection and Training.<\/p>\n

Focusing on the former two, recruitment is a positive process and selection is a negative one!<\/p>\n

After analysing the need for workforce in an organisation, the manager needs to focus on filling up the vacancies with skilled people.<\/p>\n

Recruitment lays a hand at inducing or attracting more and more candidates to apply for vacant job positions. Various external and internal sources of recruitment help the organisation in its search of the best candidate to fill in the position.<\/p>\n

The large number of applications received then has to undergo a screening process, known as the Selection test. It depends upon every organisation’s policy on how do they go about this process. The length of the test depends upon the skill set required in order to perform the vacant job. It involves the scrutinization of the attitude, aptitude, intelligence, personality and interest levels of the candidates. Selection is the hardest part, where in the number of rejections is much higher than that of selection.<\/p>\n

Unmindful of the result, one should whole-heartedly prepare for the best outcomes. Never letting go of the confidence and faith in oneself, can prove to pave a long path towards the success ladder.<\/p>\n

Therefore, never let any negative phenomenon dull away your verve!<\/p>\n
