We all talk about genders and equality liberty so often th\"What<\/a>at we forget they are different words connected together through our vocabulary and will to connect them .<\/p>\n

Gender refers to both women and men, and the relations between them .Gender equality in very simple terms mean\u00a0 when women and men enjoy the same rights and opportunities across all sectors of society, including economic participation and decision-making.<\/p>\n

As there is a definition to define it there are measures to measure it as well. different countries have different methodologies but basically do have an index to measure it.<\/p>\n

some of them are as follows :-<\/p>\n

United Nations Gender Inequality Index<\/strong><\/p>\n

Social Watch Gender Equity Index<\/strong><\/p>\n

World Economic Forum Global Gender Pay Gap Index<\/strong><\/p>\n

and many others methods used to map out the bigger picture.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In India gender discrimination is an unprecedented issue, traditional patriarch had placed women in the background and reduced its status to a\u00a0 housewife .It’s not that being a housewife is wrong, But it is the stigma attached to it that haunts us and has given a license to harass.<\/p>\n

According to the data of the foundation for sustainable development only 54 percent of Indian women are literate as compared to 76 percent of men. Women receive little schooling, and suffer from unfair and biased inheritance and divorce laws.\u00a0This is not all these problems varies in category\u00a0 and quantity in different states ranging from Rajasthan to Haryana.<\/p>\n

In Haryana the ratio is low and in Rajasthan women have to fetch for an entire households and are also paid 30% less than the men.<\/p>\n

It’s not that we have turned a blind eye to it all ,There are initiation’s like In 2010 India launched the National Mission for Empowerment of Women (NMEW) n addition, a National Resource\u00a0Center\u00a0for Women<\/strong>\u00a0has been set up and acts as a central repository for available information and research on all gender related issues.\u00a0 India ratified the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) in 1993. The incentives through statistics determine the position of women in different strata of the society and strive to improve those conditions .Though not very instant and visible change can be seen but there is a change.<\/p>\n

These incentives are like a blight light at the end of the tunnel but the point is how many of us see this light and how many of us have the courage to follow it better yet it accept it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
