I think the major reason behind lack of definite career choice in our youth is the obsession of indian parents with science stream and engineering they don’t see anything else and when the person is unable to get through either of these things she/he feels a lack of directionality and often a sense of hopelessness. Like you mentioned the availability of aptitude tests is high in US Uk i believe its not the availability of the tests but the openness of the people to use those tests. In india there is no openness amongst people and i say that through my personal experience being a psychology student. I have to admit it was an interesting read and well explored article 🙂
