Strategic HRM as the name suggests is a form of human resource management. In face the term strategic HRM stands for Strategic Human Resource Management. The Strategic human resource management is a process so as to make sure that the Human resources in management follows a long term business goal and follows a strategic framework.

These strategic human resource management may focus on matching resources to future needs, concerns about quality, quantity, culture, values, textures, and many others. It is mainly needed so as to evolve the nature of work itself that are exploited by the management plans itself.

The term strategic human resource is itself a complex term being debated on by various specialists on various fields whether it be academics or it may be the line of management in case of industries. However they all have agreed to one common term that strategic human resource management is a term that that refers to a process that has been constantly evolving each day by day and is indeed a need to serve the needs of the working masses.

The term strategic human resource management had already began to evolve in the late nineteen nineties however in term of academics the term strategic human resource management is defined as …

1. The strategic human resource management is an particular important process that is compiled of all those processes that are currently affecting the different behaviors of individuals in order to form and implement the strategic needs of a business both in terms of management and security whether it be physical or it may be their own needs .

2.The strategic human resource management also aims at an higher level . It too tells us that this particular brand of process is an pattern of planned human resource and activities that are aimed so as to let the organisation achieve their common goal as an organisation.

Thus Strategic HRM plays a quite important role in industrial management.

Just after completing the boundary of our schools we are in an pool of educational choices and we need to make a proper choice of our own in order to land some proper jobs for us, this is because whatever choice we will make we will be reading the same for the rest of our lives and we will even be working on the same. Now many people will give you many opinions . Some may say that to go for the stream where a job will land you the most lump sum money . Whereas the other person may say you to land with the stream that you have interest in , just as the saying goes. Choose the job that you like and you will never be working even for once in your life.

Thus, here we stand looking at the different options available before us just after the twelfth standard is passed-

1. Honors – this stream deals basically with the study of the core subjects namely physics, chemistry and mathematics or English .The students after passing through the course in awarded an B.Sc or B.A degree ( if he or she peruses in arts subjects )

2.Commerce- this chartered accountancy is what passes in our minds if we have have passed our twelfth from a commerce stream. However this stream is like any other stream as hard as the others .In fact chartered accountancy may be regarded as an steady stream and a well paid job as well

3. Medical- this stream deals with the study of medical details and gives a degree Mbbs after one has successfully completed this.

4. Engineering – As the stream say this field deals with the study of the engineering subjects. Some of which may be computer science and engineering , electrical engineering, mechanical engineering , electrical and electronics engineering , aeronautical engineering , marine engineering , biochemical engineering , nuclear engineering, and many others. In fact this is the most common field perused by Indian youth after their twelfth.

A disease is an abnormal condition which causes the organism to prevent his normal activities. This particular prone causes any vital organ or particular stream of organs to cease their original normal functioning and hence lead to ultimately a very critic condition for the original host’s body. These may be caused by factors originally from an external source, such as infectious ones, or it may be caused by internal dysfunctions, such as the autoimmune one.

Now there are various kinds. Some of them are as follows –

acute – these acute diseases are short term diseases like the common cold or a cough

chronic- these diseases are long lived usually for about a month or so however may extend on several occasions

flare up- flare up diseases are referred to those diseases that flares up once again after a certain interval it may even be termed as remission of a particular term of diseases.

refractory – the refractory diseases refers to those strands of diseases that resists treatment, especially an individual case that resists treatment more than is normal for the specific disease in question.

progressive – progressive diseases are referred to those diseases that progress throughout the life until the person ultimately dies . A well example of this cause is cancer.

localized – a localized disease is a particular brand of disease that affects only a particular part of the body like an athlete’s foot .

disseminated – disseminated disease is one that spreads to other parts of the body . With cancer it is more likely to to be treated as an disseminated disease.

systematic – a systematic disease affects the whole body just like influenza and other chronica form of diseases that starts with one part of the body and spreads to other.

Thus friends we see that diseases are dangerous and needs to be treated as soon as detected.

There is not a single field in human life where technology has not smeared his hands on human fortune…

Without any shadow if doubt anyone may comment that , science and technology has contributed greatly to the advancement of the human race and thus helped widely to change the adverse way we live. It thus has helped to make our life quite easier.

Students and scientists are are at the doorstep of the modern technology and are the emerging factors for the advancements of the technical world .It is important that they play their roles importantly in advancement of the technical world so that our country may prosper one day and be one of the strongest nations worldwide.

In recent times, technology has encouraged the production of weapons of destructive nature and has thus encouraged in raging of numerous number of wars world wide . Thus these pose a serious threat to all of the human race or humanity. However we must a stop to all these malpractices for the shake of our future generations.

Now technology has improved out lives in every ways , starting from simple child birth- we need technology fro operating on the patient , to a going to school where we need bus to go to a school , to even reading and writing where we need a pen and paper the fruit of simple technology , to an adverse case of engineering where technology is required in every step .

Now we can not even think a life without the availability of technology. We start our day with availability of internet a fundamental gift of technology. If you ask this generation the fourth thing after the food water and shelter will surely be free WiFi and internet connectivity. We can not even think of a life without the availability of internet connection. Internet helps to bring the world to our doorstep.

Thus technology has mixed intimately to our life…

In this lifetime how many times have you heard the word compensation?Surely you must have heard it over a thousand times even may be a million times…

Everyone roughly has an idea about the term compensation… Compensation is basically most attractive and desirable thing which employee seek , however employee will get the compensation only if the employer will be willing to offer the same in exchange for the services offered by the employee…

There may be two kinds of compensation employed by your employer, namely the first and the second types…

1. The first one is Financial , which include your basic salary, bonus paid, loans and advances which are paid by the employer in terms of hard cash.

2. The second one is Non-Financial are nothing but includes recognition ,opportunity for growth in the organization, good organizational culture and also policies.

However compensation are given by the employer on two basis namely willingness to pay and ability to pay, willingness of the employer depends upon the policy strategy and ethics of the organization however on other hand the ability to pay depends on the growth of the market shares and profitability of the organization.

The willingness of your compensations may vary from person to person depending on their mental cravings and their urges that they want to fulfill during their lifetime, However their employers gives away their compensations to an employee both financial or non-financial in terms of how capable the employee is. Thus on the whole the situation breaks down to how capable an employee is and what is he doing in order to achieve this dreams.

Some tips to achieve the right compensations are …

1. work hard starting from the beginning, an early start leaves a good impression on your superiors.

2. Try to complete your projects within the given time range.

3.Do your best to cope up with your seniors

A very common term since the beginning of the early ages… But we often wonder to know what that means. Well its quite similar to “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”, if you get it….

Now what really is happiness??? Happiness may vary from person to person depending on the number the person you are asking. If you ask a little kid he will simple answer a lollipop or watching cartoons is his happiness, if you ask a teenager he will simply answer going out with his crush is happiness ,if you ask the graduating student about happiness it surely will be a job before his eighth semester is over will give him happiness, for an elderly couple watching their children grow up and live a happy life will give them happiness. Thus happiness varies from person to person and is dependent on what you seem to like and love the most to do. For me watching a good movie and roaming with my friends gives me happiness however for you it may be eating a good lunch or scoring good marks in your examinations.

Happiness is a feeling that keeps you warm even in the coldest of weathers. It is a feeling that keeps you warm within and makes you feel lively from the inside. Thus happiness makes you an ideal person to hang out with.

A little of laughter mixed with happiness makes you lively… Surely you must have heard the term laughter is good for health… well if you are lively and well aware you will be well 🙂 …

A recent study ( a detailed one for five years ) shows that the happy persons are less prone to psychiatric stress and other forms of mental depressions. Thus it is an well explanation of why we need to be happy. If we enjoy the little things in our life we indeed will be happy and we need not worry about anything else.
Frustration today is a common term…

It is defined by,a common response to emotional depression…it arises from resistance of fulfilling one’s personal will. Thus it gives arise to anxiety, depression, emotional depressions and stuff like that…

The main causes of frustration includes—>

1.Individual expecting anger, from someone for a longer period of time.

2.Low self confidence ,hence it gives rise to low self esteem>when they realize about this they often falls down to the poor cause of self frustration.

3.It can be a result of blocking motivated behavior.

4.It may be result of trying to deal with intimate problems that are often not openly discuss-able with others

5.Some people are predisposed towards feelings of frustration, indexed in terms of temperament (frustration) across adolescence and neurotic-ism in adulthood.

The main symptoms of frustration are–>

1.In positive cases, this frustration grow up too great for the individual to contend with and thus leading to self un-satisfaction.However they may gradually control it by their will power.

2.In negative cases, the individual may perceive the source of frustration to be outside of their control thus this will continue to build up and hence grow up inside them until thy burst out in terms of emotions.

Frustrations may have a deepening effect on our minds. It is unrealistic to think that you can remove your frustrations forever however you may cope up with your problems very easily by following some simple steps they are…

1. you need to think over what you are going to do and what effects it may have before doing anything too rashly.

2.If you ever encounter a problem try to face it instead of avoiding it all total.

3. If you ever face a problem you may try to deal with a friend whom you may trust no matter what happens.

Thus my friends don’t be frustrated try to deal with it before it becomes a real problem.

Today the momentum for human analytics is growing but its potential is unrealized. While many HR Departments use metrics today, their use and application are:

ƒ Often inconsistent; different companies employ different kinds of metrics in different ways

ƒ Data is collected for the sake of collection or to justify some activity

ƒ Metrics are out there by themselves, and are not tied to business performance or adequately aligned with organizational strategies

The reasons why analytics are not being more widely used are many, including gaps in stakeholder perspectives. Barriers to fully realizing analytics are:

• Investors pressure companies to meet short-term earnings rather than long-term milestones. Human

capital analytics and its predictive business value is not one of their traditional tools.

• HR has not yet reached the level where it can consistently and quantitatively demonstrate linkage to

value creation, causing many CEOs and CFO’s to view HR skeptically as a simply a cost-centre.

• This barrier is enhanced through differences between industry and organizational size.

The knowledge and experience is often lacking to turn metrics into analytics and analytics into strategies.

• Organizational cultures that foster silos inhibit using human capital analytics. Often data related to

human capital is disconnected from business operations, so the data is not integrated, and relationships

between people and business measures are not connected. Silos create gaps because managers focus on

their own area of control. Manufacturing departments report production output; HR reports people data.

• Lack of standardization of definitions, terminologies, and formulaic elements make metrics different

from one organization to other, and makes it difficult to build on generalizable knowledge beyond one’s

Organization.

•Regulatory and Financial requirements for valuing human capital do not currently exist.

•Whether standards should be pushed upon business and HR by regulators or pulled by demand is a key

question. (FASB, etc) Many believe regulation would be a good thing for HR because if human capital

investments such as training were treated as line-item investments, instead of costs, then investor

communities would see HC as the value driver it is.

•Metrics are often non-linear. Metrics are messy and sometimes composed of soft elements (Shared

valued, skills, style, staff) and can be ambiguous and hard to quantify.

While there are challenges to be met, much can be done to operationalize human capital data.

–Conceptualize metrics in three ways:

ƒ Efficiency Metrics

ƒ Effectiveness Metrics

ƒ Predictive Metrics

– HR facilitates the process to involve managers about what metrics are relevant. These are metrics the

organization and managers own; not HR.

– Fewer metrics are better than more metrics

– Simpler is better than complicated

– Usually better to pilot a project with a smaller, human capital supportive/friendly department in your

Organization.

•Efficiency Measures

– Often we over-report efficiency measures because it’s easy

– Cost-per-hire, time-to-fill, number of training hours, HR Costs

• Effectiveness Measures

– Demonstrates how HR practices/measures relate to firm performance

– For example, increased productivity by RsX by lowering time-to-fill, lowered legal fees by RsX for

sexual harassment complaints through mandatory harassment training.

– Increase productivity by lowering voluntary turnover through key HR initiatives:

ƒ Management training class.

ƒ Team-building for areas where turnover was higher.

ƒ Improved communication about how to utilize HR Services.

The cost of capitals are as follows…..

Concept of Cost of Capital.

Cut -off-Rate :- Cost of capital is minimum required rate of return or earnings from any given project needed to justify the use of capital. In other word is the rate that must be paid to obtain funds for the operation of the firm.

Lending or borrowing Rate :- Borrowing rate is the rate at which a given firm will have to pay for obtaining capital from the market, whether it is from shareholder of other lenders. As between these two rates whichever rate is higher is to be used for discounting purpose while making investment decision.

Opportunity cost:-This is an alternative concept of cost of capital. It is the value of the alternatives foregone by adopting a particular strategy or employing resources in specific manner.

Explicit cost and Implicit cost:- The explicit cost of any source of capital may be defined as ” the discount rate that equates the present value of the cash inflows Thus explicit cost of capital is the internal rate of return of the financial opportunity.Implicit cost is the opportunity cost.

Although the determination of cost of capital in case of borrowed funds and preference share capital is easy. The estimation of the cost of equity and retained funds is quite difficult as the later depends upon relative change in the market price of share.

The cost of debt is simply the explicit interest rate, cost of preference share is the coupon rate of dividend, cost of equity however is the expected dividend as well as the growth in it commensurate to the market going rate. The overall cost is nothing but the combined cost of each of these source of capital structure and averaging is to be done based on the their relative proportions.
