A for apple and an apple a day keeps the doctor away. B for banana but hey what’s the benefit of it? Who could think that this monkey’s food has benefits equal to any other fruit? Usually we take banana when we have upset stomach but here are few benefits of it you definitely been unaware of before.

So let’s go bananas with these benefits of the worlds healthiest food.

Good for stomach It is always recommended to eat fibrous fruits and vegetables. A medium-sized banana has 3 gram of fiber and the fiber helps to regulate the speed of digestion.

Keeps your eyes healthy Banana has a small amount of vitamin A, a fat soluble vitamin that is vital for protecting your eyes and vision a 6 inch banana has nearly 10 micro grams of vitamins A. Banana also contains alpha carotene and beta carotene which convert to vitamin A to further keep your eyes healthy.

Overcome depression Due to high level of tryptophan in banana it even helps you to overcome depression. Isn’t it a great substitute to anti depressant which have ill effects on our health more than its good effect. Apart from this the banana has vitamin B6 that can help you sleep well and magnesium helps relax muscles.

Strong bones Banana may not be overflowing with calcium but they are still helpful in keeping your bones strong. The fruit contain an abundance of fructo oligosaccharides. These are non digestive carbohydrates that encourage digestive friendly probiotic and enhance the body’s ability to absorb calcium.

Quit smoking It is more difficult to face the consequences of putting this dangerous habit on hold. If you are not been able to say goodbye to your cigarettes just because you are afraid of its after-effects then this monkey food could prove to be a saviour for you. Banana has high quantity of potassium vitamin b and magnesium that helps to speed recovery from the effect of withdrawal.

Increases your concentration So far if the benefits listed above have not convinced you then this one will surely force you to have this fruit if not daily then may be during exams. Bananas help you in learning by making you more alert. Eat a banana before the exam to benefit from the high levels of potassium.

Natural moisturizer if you have dry and dull skin then the fruit could be of a great help. Mash a ripe banana and apply it on your face avoid contact with eyes. Leave it for 20- 25 minutes and then wash it away with lukewarm water. You will instantly have soft and supple skin.

Treat acne Banana peels are excellent home remedy for treating acne and pimples. You can directly apply the inside of a banana peel onto your acne to reduce inflammation and destroy bacteria.

Next time when you see this amazing fruit don’t just think it to have it during your ill stomach the fruit has much more qualities other than that.

Advertising is a means to inform and influence the general public or as in the language of advertising we say “target audience”.
Today we have thousands of ads on televisions, prints, radios and internet. But have you ever given a thought from where all these started. Was it after the advent of technology or it is the process dated back from the centuries from the time of dynasties which ruled over the golden bird?
Turning down the pages of history you will find various evidences of advertising. For example earlier the craftsmen used to put their mark on the goodies they used to make. There used to be signs painted on walls of building to signify what actually they sold. These signages are the forerunner of logos as we see them today.
The history of concrete advertising began with classified advertising. First time in India the ads got placed in the Hickey’s Bengal Gazette (first newspaper in India). The hickey’s gazette was more of a classified ad booklet rather than a proper newspaper. The first brand to be patented was horlicks “malted milk “in 1883.
The first ad agency was set by B.Duttaram in Mumbai in 1905. The targets at that time were British officers who ruled pre independence India. Later Indian ad agencies were slowly established and they started entering foreign owned ad agencies.
J.Walter Thomson was the first truly multinational agency set in 1926. The agency was hired to look after General Motors’ Indian interest in the country.
In 1939, lever’s advertising department launched Dalda the first major example of brand and marketing campaign specifically developed for India. Conceived by Harvey Duncan of LINTAS (Lever’s international advertising agencies) the tin was designed as were different pack sizes. As an advertising gimmick a van with a huge round tin did the rounds in the metro cities of Mumbai, Calcutta and Delhi.
With the arrival of ad agencies with global branches smaller agencies began to disappear or got merged with larger ones. L.A.Stronach became Norvickson Advertising while Keymer was taken over by Benson into one of their companies called BOMAS that got finally changed into OGILVY & MATHER.
However the Calcutta branch of Keymer was taken over by its employees in 1955 and they named it Clarion. Interestingly, the director Satyajit Ray was at one time the employed here as a designer and illustrator.
In 1967the first commercial was aired on Vividh Bharti and the first TVC was seen in 1978. Various companies now started advertising on television and sponsoring various shows including Humlog and Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi.
Till now the products that were made in the country got the attention of advertising agencies. First foreign brand to indianite themselves was Lux and pears toilet soaps.
Many awards came into being to appreciate the good and creative work of the ad agencies. Cannes in France has become the biggest advertising award.
So far the ad agencies have seen many turns and today it has established itself well. The ads today are more moralistic, creative and effective.

India is a developing nation with fastest growing population and economy. The figures in the charts make us all a proud citizen. Although not everything is so good, a country where 270 million people live below the poverty line obesity seems a distinct issue meant for the rich kids of the first world.
According to a study published India is just behind US and China in this global hazard list of top 10 countries with highest number of obese people. The study revealed that the number of overweight and obese people has increased from 857 million to 2.1 billion since 1980.
The main reason behind this outrageous number is unhealthy food habits that we humans have developed. Not only does being fat make you unappealing it’s also an open invitation to most of the disease. Name any disease that you think is common today and you will finds its root connected to obesity.
Obesity is best defined by using the body mass index. The body mass index is calculated using a person’s weight and height the body mass index (BMI) equals a person’s weight relative to height; it is strongly correlated with total body fat content in adults. An adult who has a BMI of 25-29.9 is considered overweight and an adult who has a BMI over 30 is considered obese.
The big question is what must be done once who come under this category of fat, overweighted or OBESE. Many of the magazines, health shows you will come across will advise you to exercise but here’s something that would equally help nothing other than whatever you eat your food.
According to a study the obesity crisis had almost nothing to do with the amount of exercise we take part in. it said that while frequent physical activity is vital in reducing the risk of the developing heart disease, dementia and a number of other conditions, it “does not promote weight loss.”
The increase or decrese in your increased waistline totally depends on the calorie you consume. An obese person does not need to do “one iota of exercise to lose weight,” they just need to “eat less.”
The logic is simple when you do exercise you burn the fats that you have collected on your body parts so cutting up the source of that fat would eventually help to shed you that extra inches.
Eat fresh healthy food with rich fibers accompanied with lots and lots of water to get back in those pants again.
EAT HEALTHY, STAY HEALTHY

The word convergence means to come together and have one interest, purpose or goal. The concept of media convergence has evolved with the advance use of internet. Media has a key role to inform, to educate and to entertain. The information is disseminated through various medium such as print and electronic. With the advent of convergence media the whole information that was provided on newspaper, magazine, television that is now available on internet. That means that all the information is now there at one click. if you have missed out reading today’s newspaper it is available on internet in the form of e newspaper , skipped any show on television the very same day it will be uploaded on internet or you do have the option of live streaming of the show.

It is said that when an individual reads a newspaper it is read by other 3 people sitting next to him and the same happens with television and radio that means that the message is not direct it is distorted as well but when you are surfing net the message and information is for the one person.

For successful engagement with the audience it is imperative that different component of business applications are integrated across media channels to have a complete convergence experience. At the same time organizations need to take into consideration the impact of handling multiple content formats into their information architecture. While business needs are changing quite rapidly it is imperative that the supporting information architecture is designed with flexibility and some degree of future proof ability to minimize total cost of ownership of such convergence application.

The content that gets published across these channels need to be consistent and managed together. In order to gain the popularity the web portal must have the local content that is being shared across various channels. Making sure that the search engine provides support for multiple languages is also the key. At times organization may want to enable search of documents web pages in other languages too.

Media organization that adopts convergence as part of their future road map stands better chance of success than the ones that do not.

Let’s go for coffee!

Has anyone asked you for a coffee today? If yes then you should surely go, not for the person who asked but for your own good health. Startled!! Don’t be. Because whatever you will be reading further in this article that will give you a clear idea of why I am bridging this connection between health and coffee.

It looks like today’s metropolitan lives are fuelled by coffee. Sure, we love that coffee perks us up to last through the day. However, this wonder drink has much more effects on us if consumed in moderation. It promotes good health and contains properties that help you keep illness at bay.

For example, drinking up coffee reduces the risk of developing type II diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, metabolic syndrome, neurodegenerative diseases, and liver and kidney cancers. An epidemiological study has shown a sharp reduction in the risk of overall death among coffee drinkers.

Delving deeper into the benefits of coffee, it has also been noted that coffee is great for skin and beauty. A cup of coffee can protect your skin against harsh sun rays which is harmful and may even lead to more complicated and life-threatening skin diseases. According to a study, caffeine actually inhibits the DNA damage response thus protecting your skin against the effect of UVB. Another good adverse of coffee is that plays a crucial role in regulating cell re-growth, leading to retained hydration and increased skin elasticity hence, as a result, you get a smooth and bright skin.

The marvelous drink not only enhances your beauty but helps to promote blood circulation. It leads to healthy and energized skin, effectively reducing the swelling of tissues and de-puffing of the skin.

So, next time when you are offered a cup of coffee think twice before saying NO.

The society in which we live has something good and bad in it. If there are people who abort a foetus just because she is a girl then on the other hand there are people in the same society who work against this discrimination. Media has a good role to play to bring all the stuffs to a general public of the society. From a few decades there has been a modification in the role of this media. Today media not only help the underprivileged and needy to raise their voices but also coming up with several campaigns in order to help them.

Earlier this job was done by NGOs only. If we talk about the example NDTV has a long list of the campaigns such as Save tree, save girls etc. print media has also taken up various campaigns under their wings like Hindustan times run their campaign for Girl child education of poor, etc. the campaigns can be of basic problems like crime, road safety, drug abuse, climate change, education or any issue that a newspaper might want to take it on behalf of its readers.

Campaign journalism is beneficial for both the society and media. Media which undertakes such campaigns have a good reputation in the eyes of its readers as it takes up the issues on the behalf of its readers and makes up an image that they do work in the direction of social changes.

Campaign journalism is more than just taking up a cause. It is also service journalism aimed at looking at the quality of life of readers. The main idea behind the concept of campaign journalism is that people at the grassroots can change the society but would not do so spontaneously or even on their own. The media which has such an influential power comes up with the role to encourage the citizens of a country or people of a community.

The critical point however is that even in pursuit of such campaign the principles that underpin good journalism must never be compromised. Any campaign has to be based on facts and figures and should never be distorted to serve secretarian interests.

Although there has been a perception among the readers that media still is not working as it should do. All the issues that are taken up by the media is nothing but to benefit themselves to gain popularity among the general public.

While choosing any organization or company for a job the first thing that comes to the mind is salary. How much they are paying? What other facilities are they giving you? But have ever thought what the company wants in return. In this cut throat competition what will be the qualities that will distinguish you from others and get you a confirm seat among the others.

Here are the skills that each firm would like to have in their employees:

1. Commitment

If you give 100% you get the same in return. Every company wants someone who is loyal towards his work, loves his work and is fully dedicated towards the worker and employers. The boss always wants someone who continues to strive for solutions and refrain from blaming others behaviour. The one who are committed to their goals and objectives.

2. Multi tasking

In today’s world no one will ask you to do only a specific job the role of an employer changes from time to time. if you are handed over a project that lies beyond your working sphere you simply cannot run from it. Accept the challenge and make the company proud on yourself. This will not only help you to expand your skill set and explore new avenues for professional growth but will also bring you under the notice of your manager.

3. Organized

No organization can run without its employees being organized. For an office an employer can be organized by keeping the files or folders properly or more substantial’s like writing high quality meeting recaps.

4. Communication

Expressing your thoughts in front of the other employer’s heads is very important for you as well as your organization. Wherever you will work you will always find this under the skills required category. A good communicator leaves no room for error and can exhibit thoughts in a direct manner. You must have communication skills that allow you to succinctly and effectively contribute your thoughts.

5. Conscientiousness

Make sure you pay attention to the details spelling and grammatical errors lost and misplaced files or general disorganization has the potential to make or break you. Therefore it proves to be among the top indicators of job performance.

So far the skills we have covered will be enough to win the heart of any manager apart from your qualification. If you don’t have any of these try to develop it in you and walk down in any office with confidence. All the best!

Do you remember the Bollywood blockbuster “KOI MIL GYA(2003). I m sure many of you would give a yes to this question. If you are that big movie buff then must remember the dialog from the same film “mai bornvita peeta hun”. Yes this is nothing but covert or in-film advertisement of the products.

When the advertisement is mixed up with the entertainment it gives birth to covert advertisement. In other words, branding of various products by placing them within films or television programme where the audience may not realize that what they saw was a form of advertising.” Covert advertising is both beneficial for both the brands and movies. The companies pay high amount of fees or provide their services to display their products.Covert advertising occurs with inclusion of a product in a shot.some companies on the other hand provide their products to the movie e.g. Nike does not pay to be in movies but offer shoes, jackets, bags etc. Audiences have no option but to notice the products when they are engrossed in the movies or television script. even the credibility of the product increases manifold when they are used in films.Movies have a long life as they are available on prime time television channels, cable television channels which results in long way advertisement of the brand or product too.

advertising agencies follow some techniques of covert advertising

product placement

sponsorship

In product placement the brand name, products, package, signage or other trademark merchandise is inserted into and used contextually in a motion pictures or other media vehicle for commercial purpose. For example, Shahrukh Khan using Nokia Lumia in Chennai Express. sponsorship is much more direct approach of advertisement. it links the product more directly to the films and is more expensive and effective.

The product placed in the movies can be passive and active. When the product is actually taken up the film star and used it is active placement like Priyanka Chopra uses tata salt(Desh ka namak) in Mary Kom. The product or brand visually placed in the background in some scenes or sequence then it is known as passive placement for example ICICI bank featured in the movie Baghban.

So next time when you are watching a movie keep an attention to this tricky advertising technique.
