Let’s talk about tomatoes!

They are juicy, yummy and their sweet-sour taste makes them more than delicious. No doubt that this little berry is not even tasty but also good for health.

It is versatile because it can be used in numberless dishes. Rich in Vitamin C and low in calories. A perfect example of a healthy food.
It contains adequate amounts of calcium and Vitamin K which help in strengthening the bones and perform minor repairs on the bone tissue.
They contain a great amount of Vitamin A and Vitamin C which work as antioxidants to neutralize harmful free radicals in the blood. Free radicals in the blood stream are dangerous because they can lead to cell damage.

The Vitamin A in tomatoes works perfectly to keep your hair shiny and strong. In addition to that it is also good for your eyes, skin and teeth.
Tomatoes contain a high level of lycopene which is a natural antioxidant and works effectively to slow the growth of cancerous cells and therefore resulting in reducing your chances of developing stomach cancer. Lycopene also makes skin less sensitive to UV light damage, a leading cause of fine lines and wrinkles. It can reduce sun damage by 35%.

You will be surprised to know that tomatoes can even reduce the amount of damages done to your body by smoking cigarettes. They contain coumaric and chlorogenic acid that work to protect the body from carcinogens that are produced from cigarette smoke.
Due to the presence of Vitamin B and potassium in tomatoes, they are effective in reducing cholesterol levels and lowering blood pressure. Therefore consuming tomatoes on a regular basis you can effectively prevent heart attacks, strokes as well as many other heart related problems that may threaten your life.

The Vitamin A found in tomatoes is considered to be good for improving your vision and prevent the development of night blindness. They are packed full of the valuable mineral known as chromium which works effectively to keep blood sugar levels under control.

And Remember, the redder the tomato, the more beta-carotene it contains. Beta-carotene is a compound which helps in maintaining healthy skin and plays a vital role in eye health.

And yes one more thing, cooking destroys the Vitamin C, so for better benefits, eat raw tomatoes and stay healthy.

What is Life ?

Life is a bundle of challenges and we do not have any other option except for facing those challenges. No matter how big or small a challenge maybe, when we have to face these challenges anyhow why not face them with all our might and capacity, why not face them with a smile on our face. Well this will definitely improve your chances to succeed.

My friend, If you are thinking that you cannot, then you must rethink because you can, you have got the capacity.

If you are thinking that it is taking time, then believe me, you are on the right track because good things doesn’t come all of a sudden. They demand patience, persistence and perspiration.

If you are thinking that its not doable, then just do one thing : keep trying, and believe me you will surprise yourself.

If you are thinking that things are getting harder then don’t step back, face them with all your strength and might because this is just the time when you will make it.

If you are thinking that you have applied all your faculties, you have tried your level best and your best is not good enough then leave it in the hands of god.

If you are thinking and thinking is doing no good then shut down your thoughts. The thoughts which are putting you down, letting you down must be thrown out then and there. Stand up and start working, you will find the light on your way.

If you are thinking, thinking and only thinking then you are wasting your time because thinking will not lead you to change. Change will not happen until and unless you stand up and step forward. Things will not move until and unless you are ready to move yourself.

If you are thinking that it is not possible then you must think again because there is nothing on this earth which you cannot achieve. You have the power and potential. You can do it because you have got the capacity.

Focus on your Aim, don’t blur you vision with the thoughts which put you down. Whenever negative thoughts come in your mind just stop for a while, take a deep breath and think that this moment is temporary, it will pass. I have the courage to get over it and no matter how unfavorable the circumstances are I will not give up, I would not quit, I will give my best, I will work further hard, I will put my best foot forward because I have got the capacity.

Tulsi is a sacred plant in Hindu belief. It is also known as Holy basil and its scientific name is Ocimum tenuiflorum. Hindus regard it as an earthly expression of the goddess Tulsi, better half of the god Vishnu. Many people have tulsi plants growing in front of their home. Traditionally,
Tulsi is planted in the center of the central courtyard of Hindu houses. Offering of its leaves is mandatory in ritualistic worship of Vishnu and his forms like Krishna and Vithoba.

Tulsi is cultivated for religious and medicinal purposes and for its essential oil. It is widely known across the India as a medicinal plant and a herbal tea, commonly used in Ayurveda. It has a number of medicinal benefits.

Basil makes a good medicine for headache. It is also used for getting relief from heat and for providing coolness in general. It is one of the many herbs which help to control blood sugar levels. It reduces the blood sugar levels by causing a sudden or drastic drop. The anti-oxidants present in Tulsi help in balancing different processes of the body.

Drinking Tulsi extract daily smooths the nervous system and helps to relieve stress. The leaves are a nerve tonic and also sharpen memory.
Tender Tulsi leaves boiled in water act as a preventive against malaria and dengue fever. The leaves are also useful in treating teeth disorders. Tulsi leaves dried and powdered can be used for brushing teeth.

Basil juice is an effective cure for sore eyes and night blindness which is generally caused by lack of Vitamin A. Two drops of basil juice can work wonders for the eyes. It soothes eyes and reduces stress. It can also protect from conjunctivitis, boils and other problems of the eyes which are caused mainly due to bacterial and fungal infections by washing eyes with water soaked in tulsi leaves.

It is an important constituent of many Ayurvedic cough syrups and expectorants. It helps to mobilize mucus in bronchitis and asthma. Chewing tulsi leaves relieves cold and flu. Rubbing finely powdered dry tulsi on the face like a loose powder adds glow to the face glow and removes dark spots from the face and regular massage of tulsi oil in your scalp energizes you and your hair.

Apart from all these benefits, it has been recently discovered that tulsi has environmental benefits too. Tulsi apparently gives out oxygen for 20 hours and ozone for 4 hours along with the formation of nascent oxygen which absorbs harmful gases like carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide from the environment.

Plant one Tulsi in your vicinity and save yourself from a number of diseases.

You all must have heard about Embedded Systems. An embedded system is a computer system with a particular defined function within a larger mechanical or electrical system. They control many devices in common use. They consume low power, are of a small size and their cost is low per-unit.

Modern embedded systems are often based on micro-controllers. A micro-controller is a small computer on a single integrated circuit which contains a processor core, memory, and programmable input and output peripherals. As Embedded system is dedicated to perform specific tasks therefore they can be optimized to reduce the size and cost of the product and increase the reliability and performance.
Almost every Electronic Gadget around us is an Embedded System, digital watches, MP3 players, Washing Machine, Security System, scanner, printer, a cellular phone, Elevators, ATM, Vendor Machines, GPS, traffic lights, Remote Control, Microwave Oven and many more.

The uses of embedded systems are virtually limitless because every day new products are introduced to the market which utilize embedded computers in a number of ways.

Embedded Systems has brought about a revolution in Science. It is also a part of a Internet of Things (IoT) – a technology in which objects, animals or people are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.

Let’s make it easy for you. For Example – You are sitting in a train headed to your destination and you are alredy a fifty miles away from your home and suddenly you realise that you forgot to switch of the fan. Not to worry, you can switch it off just by clicking a button on your cellphone using this technology – The Internet of Things.
Well this is just one good thing about IoT. We can monitor Pollution Levels, we can control the intensity of street lights as per the season and weather requirements, IoT can also provide the parents with real-time information about their baby’s breathing, skin temperature, body position, and activity level on their smartphones and many other applications which can make our life easy.

We have just begun to enter a new generation of Inventions.

Have you ever imagined to charge your laptop or mobile phone without plugging it to a wall socket or thought of watching Television without connecting its wire to the power. Well, it is possible. This can be done using the concept of wireless electricity.

Wireless electricity is the transfer of power from one device to another, air being the medium of transmission. First attempt of wireless power transmission was made by Nikola Tesla.

Nikola Tesla has made major contributions to science and society. He was the inventor of Alternating current due to which production and transportation of electricity became easier. He was the inventor of LASER which is used in every other department rather it be Scientific, Military, Medical, Industrial and commercial. He was also the inventor of Electric Motor, Radio, X-rays, Remote Control and many more. He also invented how light can be harnessed and distributed.

In the year 1899, Nikola Tesla first made practical demonstrations of wireless power transmission. He powered a field of fluorescent lamps which were located twenty-five miles away from their power source and that too without using wires. This technology requires two coils: one of which is transmitter and other, receiver. An alternating current is passed through the transmitter coil which generates a magnetic field. This in turn induces a voltage in the receiver coil. It can be used to power a mobile phone or charge a battery. To explain further, whenever we direct an electrical current through a wire there is a natural phenomena that occurs, circular magnetic field is created around the wire. And if we coil that wire, its magnetic field becomes stronger. Now if we take a second coil of wire that does not have an electrical current passing through it and place that coil within the magnetic field of the first coil, current will start flowing in the second coil also due to inductive coupling.

Wireless electricity is a new area of technology and is rapidly being developed.

Nowadays it is also been termed as WiTricity. A new industry WiTricity Corporation which was founded in 2007 is working on to commercialize the new technology of wireless electricity.

Wireless Electricity will soon bring about a revolution in science applications.

Think of chocolate and it makes your mouth water. Well, it has a number of benefits.

Chocolate is made up of cocoa beans which are the dried seeds of the tree “Theobroma Cacao” which means “food of the gods”.

The cocoa beans are the basis of chocolate. They contain polyphenols with antioxidant properties which do not allow the formation of free radicals in our body and thus saves us from a number of diseases.

Chocolate also contains theobromine, phenylethylamine and caffeine which not only helps in improving our concentration level but also makes our mind sharp. It also contains an element named tryptophan whose derivative serotonin is a neurotransmitter which gives you a feeling of delight and happiness.

Chocolate is also considered good for heart as it contain flavonoids which are best known fortheir antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits and also support cardiovascular system and nervous system.

Dark Chocolates are considered to be very nutritious and a powerful source of antioxidants. They also help in controlling and improving the blood pressure.

A study at Harvard University found that people who eat chocolate three times a month may live almost a year longer than those who do not. But don’t forget that anything in excess is poison. A chocolate is rich in sugar and calories and can be harmful if consumed in plenty. 22 pounds of chocolate is considered to be lethal for a human being.
So eat in moderation and live a happy and healthy life.

Some interesting chocolate facts:

World’s largest chocolate bar weighed 5792 kg.

Chocolate has an anti-bacterial effect on mouth and protects from tooth decay.

Chocolate can sicken and even kill dogs.

Even the smell of chocolate increases theta brain waves, which triggers relaxation.

Allowing chocolate to melt in one’s mouth causes a more intense and longer-lasting pleasure than kissing.

In Mayan civilization, cacao beans were currency.

Cacao trees can live to be 200 years old, but they produce marketable cocoa beans for only 25 years.
It takes approximately 400 cacao beans to make one pound of chocolate.

Cacao has been around for millions of years and is probably one of the oldest of nature’s foods.
