Virus

A virus in the context of data entry or computer basics is a type of malicious software that is designed to replicate itself and spread from one computer to another. It can be introduced to a computer system through various means, such as downloading infected files from the internet, opening email attachments from unknown senders, or connecting an infected external device, such as a USB drive, to a computer.

Once a virus infects a computer, it can cause various problems such as slowing down the computer’s performance, deleting or corrupting files, or stealing sensitive information. Some viruses are also designed to launch attacks on other computers or networks.

To protect against viruses, it’s important to have antivirus software installed on a computer system. Antivirus software scans files and emails for viruses and other types of malware and removes them before they can cause damage. It’s also important to practice safe browsing habits, such as not clicking on links or downloading files from unknown sources, and to keep software and operating systems up-to-date with the latest security patches.
